Soy is toxic. Don’t touch it or any version of it.
Why?
90% of soy in the USA is genetically modified, has level of xenoestrogens and other toxins that are potentially cancer causing.
This is particularly ironic, because for many years, soy has been deceptively marketed as a “health” food. Soy comes in many forms: soy milk, soy yogurt, tofu and other vegetarian soy incarnations disguising as ‘healthy’ alternatives. It is hidden in lots of food, read the ingredients in your packaged foods such as that on your protein bars, you will see listed soy protein isolates. But you are told that they are beneficial right?
The truth is there are so many studies that have proven the dangers of soy. Here is what they are saying:
Reasons Why Soy is Dangerous!
1. Soy may impair thyroid function. Studies have shown the TSH (thyroid-stimulating hormone) levels go down when people stop eating soy.
2. The USA GMO soy crop is packed full of herbicides and pesticides.
3. Soy damages gut health altering the healthy gut flora.
4. Soy foods such as tofu are overly processed and has traces of heavy metals because they are made in aluminum casks. It takes a lot of processing to get tofu white and silky! Soy is originally bitter and nasty tasting so MSG, sweeteners and other chemicals must be added to improve the taste.
5. Soy can be anti-nutrient. The physic acid in soy blocks the absorption of minerals in the body.
6. Soy is full of trypsin inhibitors. Trypsin is an enzyme produced in the pancreas needed to digest protein. Countries consuming high levels of soy see higher numbers of pancreatic, stomach and thyroid cancers.
7. High levels of xenoestrogens in soy, synthetic estrogen that mimic the hormone estrogen our your body can:
- Disrupt hormone balances for men and women
- Affect proper ovulation
- Lower testosterone in men leading to man boobs
- Be linked to infertility in animals & humans
- Affects children’s development
- Affect boys’ genitals full development
- Little girls’ body may mature faster and start their menstruation earlier than normal
- Impact brain and nervous system development.(1)
- Cause breast & prostate cancer
Soy is BAD for Babies!
Our family avoids soy food products! What’s really tragic is that it has been added to infants formula! Through this media deception, tens of thousands of well meaning trusting parents think they are giving their children great nutrition! Let’s clarify this once and for all: soy is dangerous!
Dr. Mercola says, “Soy formula causes harm to your baby in two primary ways: First, most soy formula has 80 times the amount of manganese as breast milk and can directly cause brain dysfunction. Additionally, there is the hormonal equivalent of 4-5 birth control pills in a daily dose of soy formula, which can cause significantly premature puberty and other sexual abnormalities, and an increased risk of cancer.” (2)
Asian soy is different
I grew up in a Vietnamese family and I lived in Japan for a while too. The soy intake was very minimal in my experience. The organic soy (without the GMOs, pesticides, and other chemicals) was used to make soy sauce and used as fertilizer for the ground. In Japan, they ferment soy which neutralized the physic acid. It is eaten in the fermented form of nato (which is bitter and nasty) and miso mostly for miso soup.
The soy in the USA is VERY different. Asians don’t have soy cheese, soy yogurt, soy hot-dogs, soy burgers and soy protein isolates in their protein bars! The US population consumes more soy than any other country. (3)

Sneaky Soy
Soy is fed to the farmed animals. Did you know that Soy is $3.5 Billion industry. (Forbes.com)? If you look carefully, you will see it’s in nearly everything!
Here is the average grams of soy used per kilo of animal products.
575g of soy used –1 kg Chicken
307g of soy used –1 kg Eggs
263g of soy used –1 kg Pork
173g of soy used –1 kg Beef
Even if the meat is labeled ‘no added hormones‘, toxic endocrine disrupting soy-chemicals are in the feed, and thus in the meat!
