Whenever Melissa oil is needed, I always think to my self, “Oh boy, this is a BIG GUN!” It helps us so profoundly on all levels of health. On the physical level, it is powerful against environmental invasion in the form of nasty microbes. This is why it is in the dōTERRA On Guard+ softgels. On an emotional level, it helps open the door to release negative emotions. And on a spiritual level, it sheds light on all darkness, allowing you to SEE again who you really are and where you need to go.
I can’t tell you how many times I’ve shared Melissa with people and they start to cry involuntarily. There is something so powerful about Melissa. It has such a high vibration. It is truly the “Oil of Light.”
The other name for Melissa is Lemon Balm. It is extracted from the leaves and white flowering tops. Melissa is one of the more expensive oils.

It can replace intensity with serenity, and distrust with innocence. Melissa is among the most effective oil for anxious [feelings] … and a feeling of foreboding; effective in easing grief and soothing sadness, helps people to return to a sense of balance. In my observation, invaders such as fungus and viruses are the physical manifestation of negative, dark thoughts, beliefs and feelings. We may not be aware that we are negative but the state of our physical body will be evidence of that. As we change and adopt brighter thoughts, beliefs, and feelings, our physical body cleanses itself of the fungus and viruses. Think of Melissa oil as a torch in darkness illuminating the body as it travels through.
This oil encourages wisdom and spiritual awareness. It is great for the 6th and 7th chakra.
Melissa has an intense power due to it’s high level vibration. When you use it often you can’t help but let go of darkness whatever shape or form it maybe and embrace Light! There is so a spark of divine light in all of us. Melissa encourages us to connect to that light and nurture it until it grows stronger and brighter.
When you are tempted to be negative, play small or give up, smell Melissa. Melissa will shine the light on your path making it clearer and less confusing. I like to diffuse it, inhale it, put it on my 3rd eye and on the roof of my mouth.
Please share below how else you use Melissa oil.
I allow light in to illuminate my whole being
I am filled with joyful, optimistic energy
