As you compare the US label to the AU, please keep these things in mind:

–          Regulatory laws are different and have different upper limits on nutrients as well as lower limits. They also don’t allow some ingredients altogether. TGA certification and manufacturing a product in Australia also makes it very difficult from a manufacturing and sourcing aspect to make the two products identical.

–          Labeling laws are also different. At first glance, some ingredients or nutrients will look very different but are in fact the same because the two governments require them to appear on a label in a specific way.

Formula differences:

–          Vitamin D3 – the US is 800IU and AU is 200IU because of regulatory restrictions.

–          No Glycoprotein Matrix. This form of delivery system for vitamins and minerals is too new in the US and not accepted in most other countries, including Australia. Therefore, we use the acceptable forms of vit/min in Australia.

o   Vitamin B12 is in the form of cyanocobalamin. From a chemistry perspective, there is no difference between cyanocobalamin and the glycoprotein matrix version of VB12, which actually also happens to be cyanocobalamin.  From a physiology (body) perspective, cyanocobalamin has the same benefits as vitamin B12 from the GPM source.

o   Cyanocobalamin and cyanide are in the same cyano family but cyanocobalamin is perfectly safe from a toxicity standpoint.

–          In the US, the calcium in the Microplex VMz is sourced from calcium carbonate (from coral), calcium malate (not allowed in AU), and calcium ascorbate. The AU version has calcium carbonate (mined from the ground), calcified red algae (Lithothamnion), and calcium ascorbate. Calcium comes from multiple sources in both the US and AU formulas to ensure bioavailability and efficacy.
