What can both calm you and rejuvenate your skin?
Lavender!
I hated Lavender for 2 or 3 years when I first started using essential oils. It helped me open up even when I didn’t know its true powers. Today, it smells amazing to me.
Are you having a hard time communicating your thoughts and feelings? Do you feel that people don’t listen to you? Lavender is not only calming and relaxing, it goes deeper and opens up channels of communications inside of you. I thought I communicated pretty clearly back then, but Lavender really showed me.
If you are afraid of public speaking or even to hear your voice message, then I invite you to get to know this aspect of Lavender.
Lavender is also known as the Mother of Essential Oils. Lavender is an amazing essential oil and one of the most useful. Chances are that this will become one of the main essential oils you use in your home. Lavender’s ability is unlimited.
For centuries, Lavender was a remedy for diverse ailments. Herbalists frequently prescribed Lavender. Women relied on Lavender for beautification. You can find Lavender in many places and things. Lavender is in smelling salts, in linen closets, scented lingerie drawers to protect clothing from moths and insects.
Did you know that during World Wars I and II, Korean War and in Viet Nam solders and medics carried Lavender oil with them onto the battlefields for disinfecting wounds and soothe fears and help those in pain.
Because Lavender is so gentle the skin, we can use it instead of other hot oils for people who have sensitivities. It is a must have oils for children! Please dilute it a little because it seems to be more effective.
So, what does Lavender do? Well, like all essential oils, there are very many uses. However, here are the 4 main areas for Lavender:
- Skin – soothes occasional for all sorts of skin irritations. It supports the body in tissue repair.
- Feelings – reduces anxious feelings
- Relax – helps ease feelings of tension the mind, muscles,
- Mood – calming relaxing aroma
BODY
Lavender relaxes and protects the brain and body.
Bedtime: Add a few drops of Lavender to pillow or feet before bedtime for a more restful sleep. Or begin diffusing next to the bed a few minutes before bedtime.
Skin Irritations: Apply topically to soothe skin irritations. It is BEST to dilute Lavender, so it can remain on the skin longer. Sometimes applying neat is too concentrated.
Air Freshening: Add drops to water spray bottle to cleanse and freshen air, closets, mattress, car, etc.
Calm Nerves: Take internally or aromatically to reduce anxious feelings and promote calmness.
Releasing Muscle Tension: Lavender is one of the ingredients in the AromaTouch oil. You can also make your own blend using Marjoram, Basil, Rosemary or White Fir. Mix these oils with Fractionated Coconut oil before you massage.
Speech Support: Rub Lavender on the outside of the throat to support clear confident speech. It is great for children learning to speak. It also is great for people preparing to speak publicly, too.
Pink Eye Healing Support: Rub lavender on the toes of the feet 3-4 times a day. You may want to add Melaleuca oil with the Lavender too.
Head Aches & Tension: Mix Lavender, Frankincense and Peppermint with Fractionated Coconut oil and rub on temples. Read more here.
Relieve Tension and Exhaustion: Lavender 2 drops, Clary Sage 5 drops, Cypress 3 drops added to 1 teaspoon of coconut oil. Gently blend and apply to shoulders and base of the neck with an expectation of Peace and renewed energy.1

Ads.SPIRIT
In order to permanently heal from anything, we have to heal from the root. The root is always about healing the spirit. To heal the spirit, we have to clarify and identify what it is we believe and make sure that these beliefs are good and positive beliefs.
Blocked Communication: To heal from blocked communication, you need to believe that you are free and unrestrained. We may not be aware of this self-imposed limitation because it may be inherited beliefs and thinking patterns. How you know you have it is by observing the feelings, actions and results.
Belief >> Thoughts >> Feelings >>Actions>>RESULTS
The scriptures have taught us to judge things by their fruits. If it is a positive and good belief, the fruits of that belief are good and positive. The fruit we are looking for ‘free relaxed communications.’
Fear of Rejection: To heal from fear of rejection, you need to accept yourself fully and stop rejecting yourself. Allow yourself time to realize and understand that you are a child of God and loved by God. Regularly list out and focus on all the good qualities you have. You may have spent most of your lifetime subconsciously saying bad things about yourself. You have been very critical of yourself and have often focused on your weaknesses and shortcomings. Train your mind, heart and soul to think and believe that you are enough. Be grateful. You are enough for God right now as you are. Remember you are not at the end of your journey yet, so give yourself some slack. Set a good example of self-love for your family and friends.
Smell and rub Lavender over your heart and say, “I love and fully accept myself.”
Feeling Unseen or Unheard: Do you find that people don’t even notice you or have overlooked you and you feel unseen or unheard? If so, use Lavender as you develop a stronger self worth.
As a mother, when my first child was born, and I held her in my arms, I had so much love for her. Why did such a tiny human being create such great love in my heart? She was mine! She didn’t need to prove or earn anything. Likewise, the infinite God, our Heavenly Father, loves us unconditionally because we are His. He loves and encourages us as we develop and progress into a being like Him.
When we change our beliefs we will change our feelings.
Believe that you are important and of great worth. You are just as important as anyone else. I use to feel small and unimportant compared to others. Because of those feelings I often kept quiet, and sometimes when I do say something, it would come out all wrong. My subconscious belief broadcasted that I am small and inconsequential. What we believed will be manifested. People and situations in your life will manifest this belief of being small and inconsequential.
Smell Lavender and say this affirmation, “I am a beloved child of God. I have infinite divine worth. I fully love and accept myself.”
I hated the smell of Lavender when I first smelled it. I had a hard time believing I was valuable in anyway and was anything of importance. I made up my mind that I was going to have more faith and truly believe that I am a beloved child of God. I worked on believing that God didn’t make something worthless and inferior so I must be something of great worth.
Feeling Constricted & Tense: To heal from feeling constricted and tense, you need to believe that you are free and powerful. One way to do that is to take power back and fully own your power to choose. We all have immense power within us that we can access. It is our goal to progress in this way. We haven’t been taught well how to access our power. In fact, we’ve been taught the opposite. Society and the media teaches us to blame, justify and play victim role often.
Viktor E. Frankl said, “Between stimulus and response there is a space. In that space is our power to choose our response. In our response lies our growth and our freedom.”
Being humans, we often choose the easiest immediate choice which is negativity. Instead, see your challenges as opportunities to grow. When you allow yourself to grow, similar problems cease to repeat.
Once we see that we’ve created the self-imposed restriction, constriction and/or tension in our lives, we can choose the equal and opposite beliefs and feelings. As a powerful being that you are and potentially going to be, you can feel free and fully capable.
Smell Lavender and say, “I am relaxed, powerful and free to choose.”
Emotional Dishonesty & Hiding, Fear of Self-Disclosure: I will call this the Mulan Complex. Do you put on a show so you can hide who you are inside? Because somehow you believe that who you are inside isn’t enough and acceptable? Are you afraid of opening up your heart to others because you fear that they may not like you or judge you? Are you worried tha
t people will think less of you if you make mistakes or behave different to socially accepted rules?
I believe the solution is two fold.
Firstly, self-awareness, self-love and acceptance. When you love and respect yourself, you will find that others love and respect you too. You are just like everyone else at the core. You are a child of God. You don’t have to have it all together all the time. You are allowed to mess up. Natural consequences of not ideal choices are painful enough without us adding discouragement and self-loathing to it as further punishment. Love yourself like God loves you. Cut yourself some slack.
Smell Lavender and say, “I love myself unconditionally. I am patient and kind to myself at all times.”
Secondly, get to know yourself and be ok with your HUMANITY. We may have spent a lot of time pleasing other people and living up to worldly ideals and not realizing our unique gifts, talents, likes, dislikes, dreams and hopes. Many of us don’t know who we are. As often as you can, journal and answer “Who Am I?” Just like Mulan’s song, “Who is that girl I see, staring straight back at me?” 6
I love and enjoy myself more now. I realize that there is more to improve on. I have found some fun things I like to do and some talents I have.
I hope that learning about how Lavender can calm your body, mind and spirit will help you start a journey of self discovery too. I pray that we can all continue to blossom.
