Detoxing? How are you doing? It is a good idea to journal your experiences. You want to record how you are changing. Sometimes healing is NOT pretty! As your cells release the stored toxins into your blood stream, you will notices some changes. It is a good sign that things are shifting out.
Is this working? What can I normally expect to happen?
Since we are all different, we may have varied results as we continue cleansing our body but here are some of the common ones:
- Urinating more frequently (stinky urine)
- Headaches
- Dry, cracked lips
- More rash, acne or skin irritations
- More bowel movements OR constipation
- Irritations (angry, short tempered, crying)
- Lack of energy (Tiredness, feeling flat, drained)
- Red or dry eyes
- Yeast infection ‘down there”
- Appetite change (usually more sugar cravings)
- Stinky sweat
- Bad breathe
What can I do to make it more comfortable?
- Drink more water (Most important)
- Get more sleep
- Rest more often
- Eliminate unnecessary things that stress you out
- If you get too uncomfortable, then slow down. Take less of everything and stretch out your cleansing to 60 days instead.
How does hydration help?
This is a very important time to make sure you stay hydrated. You need to assist your body in flushing out the toxins. If the toxins hang around long enough it gets reabsorbed into the fat cells again frustrating your efforts.
Drink as much water as you are comfortable drinking.
You can try watered down coconut water (a natural source of electrolytes) with a few drops of your favorite citrus oils (Lemon, Grapefruit, Wild Orange, Lime). The essential oils seem to make the water more easily absorbable to the body.
