Foundational Body Building Blocks
Let’s make good food the building blocks of our bodies! Just like building a house, when you use the best materials, you get the best home!
I have never been on a diet because I don’t like any short term fixes! It needs to be a lifestyle change and the results need to be permanent. Having said that, I have some basic rules I live by.
My food philosophy is eat as natural and local as possible! There will never be one diet-fits-all. Here are my personal food philosophy.
- Your body knows what it needs. When you are in-tuned with your body, you’ll know what it is asking to be fed. Listen to the body!
- When the natural molecular structure of the food is still intact then your body should be able to digest it and eliminate it effectively. Overly processed foods (even so called healthy ones) or adulterated foods causes damage in your body because the natural food has become unrecognizable to the body.1
- Your nutritional needs will vary depending on where on Earth you live. The environment and weather will play an important factor in what your body needs. Cold area needs are different to the more tropical areas. Eat as local as you can.
- Eat a variety of colorful foods to provide a spectrum of nutrients. When your nutritional quota is met, your body craves less which helps you NOT overeat.
- Be vigilant, smart and think critically about what you read and watch. Don’t adopt every new idea or research out there. Soy and whole-wheat are some of the very successfully marketed bad foods. Research a bunch of different sources and check in with your heart before you adopt anything. Your intuition will give you clues.
Foods to Eliminate and Why?
Pasteurized Dairy
Do your best to reduce or eliminate all together pasteurized dairy from your diet. Why? Mostly because the modern pasteurized dairy products not only have lost its nutritional benefits but can cause us more harm.2
The modern commercial dairy farming methods often produces diseased genetically enhanced cows which then are given antibiotics and other drugs. The milk they produce are puss-filled, chemical laden, high in hormones, high in omega 6 fatty acid milk which is then made into other products such as cheese and yogurt. The dead-bacteria in milk is not removed so it can causes a lot of allergy in people when their immunity detects the bacteria (dead or alive). By the way, dairy is NOT the best source of calcium for strong bones.34 Research has shown the countries that consume more dairy have a higher rate of bone problems. It is hard for some people to digest when they don’t have the enzymes to digest it.5 Dairy is quite acidic to the body too. Dairy is a source of concentrated cow-estrogen which interferes with humans endocrine system.
If you want to eat dairy, it is best to have dairy products made from HEALTHY grass-fed cows but it is hard to be absolutely sure of this.
Corn
Actually organic naturally grown corn is fine because it has lots of fibers and some nutrients but don’t eat too much because it has more starch than most vegetables.6 I love the Vietnamese imported mini corn! GMO corn products such as high-fructose corn syrup, dextrose, glucose and other sweeteners can spike blood sugar and may prevent weight loss when consumed in excess.7 The commercial corn used in processed foods like corn chips, breakfast cereals, high-fructose corn syrup and corn oil, or turned into livestock feed and ethanol are mostly genetically modified (GMO).8 We should be concerned about GMO because of the soil damage these commercial corn creates and the amount of toxins used in it’s production which inevitably can lead to severe health problems to us.9
Soy
GMO Soy and its products can be found in many foods. Avoid it in all of its form! In the past, it has been marketed as a healthy product.10 Years ago, in my research I discovered a large comprehensive study called the “Dark Side of Soy”explaining how soy was toxically it was produced, how it got introduced to the USA diet and the mass profits it resulted in.11 Even though it continues to be marketed as healthy, I believe that it is laden with xenoestrogens (synthetic estrogen) which can lead to problems connected to the thyroid, breast, fertility and prostate.12 Some uses the lower rates of breast cancer in Asia as evidence that Soy is ok. They have to remember that in Asian they eat a different type of soy and that their diets include only small amounts of soy and it’s primarily in a ‘fermented form such as miso, natto, and tempeh, and some tofu. Fermenting soy creates health-promoting probiotics, the good bacteria our bodies need to maintain digestive and overall wellness.’13 Read more about soy here.
Sugar
Sugar like most of these things above has been highly processed. There are many forms of these highly processed sugars:
Beet sugar Brown sugar Buttered syrup Cane juice Cane sugar Caramel Corn syrup Corn syrup solids Confectioner’s sugar Castor sugar Dehydrated cane juice Fructose Fruit juice Fruit juice concentrate Galactose |
Glucose Glucose solids Golden sugar Golden syrup Granulated sugar Grape sugar High fructose corn syrup Honey Icing sugar Invert sugar Lactose Malt Maltodextrin Maltose Malt syrup |
Mannitol Maple syrup Molasses Muscovado Panocha Powdered sugar Raw sugar Refiner’s syrup Rice syrup Sucrose Treacle Turbinado sugar Yellow sugar14 |
Highly Processed Food
For me the reason why highly processed foods are bad for us is that the natural chemical make up of the food is damaged or adulterated in some way. In other words, the food is dead and has no or low vibration at all. Natural fibers and enzymes are taken out or damaged during the processing stages so the food is not in its original form that is recognizable by the body to use as building blocks. If you keep that in mind, then you’ll be able to judge what is good to eat because even foods labeled ‘healthy’ foods might not be good to eat. And food that seems like unhealthy might be fine to eat.
One reason why I like the dōTERRA Lifelong Vitality Supplements so much is that it is from whole foods and obtained naturally.
Conclusion
It is easier to know what to eat when you understand what to look for and eliminate. I hope you can see that this lifestyle isn’t as difficult or complicated as other health approaches are. What God has intended for us will be good for our body in the environment that we are currently living in. We need quality real living materials to build our body and influence our spirit/energy. The more raw and living the food is the better for our body. Our body will naturally have great weight and function optimally. I am weary of ‘diets’ out there because I know that there is never one size fits all. Consider your climate and location. Consider the natural growing foods in your area. Consider how close to nature the food is and process it minimally. Do your best and don’t stress over being perfect. Pray and give gratitude for all your foods and drink. Healing will happen naturally and life will be filled with love, light and healing.
