Cumin

Cumin is the oil of Balanced Ambition.  Like many seed oils, cumin seed oil is great for the digestive system and for purifying and cleansing the organs.  This popular plant requires full sun and can grow quickly.

Cumin helps remind us to balance our drive and passions for achievement.  When this drive is based on our own measures and understanding, it may be misguided, distracting or destructive.  Cumin reminds us to detach our happiness from the superficial end results of our own version of success.  Instead, we can clear away all the unnecessary shallow attachments and appreciate the real, deep purpose of our daily actions.

Cumin reminds us that we don’t need to overly sacrifice the important things in life (such as family, integrity, and relationships) to achieve success.  A higher version of success is easily attained with God’s guidance.  You can let go of the ‘either-or’ scarcity mentally and adopt the ‘can have it all’ abundant mentality.  With a generous Heavenly Father, we can have it all, if we do it right.

In humility, we can enjoy the journey, work collaboratively with family and friends, share the workload, and achieve success together for the higher good of all.

Actions: Take 1-2 drops internally in a capsule.  Add to food for flavoring and aroma.  Massage on the bottom of feet.  Diffuse.

⚠︎Attention: This is a spicy or hot essential oil.  You will want to dilute it.

Possible Substitutions: If you don’t have this oil, here are some other oils with similar qualities you can try: Bergamot, Coriander, Lemon, Tea Tree, Marjoram, Lime, Thyme, Cilantro, Cassia, and Cinnamon.  The constituents of Cumin are cuminaldehyde, cuminal, terpinen 7-al, gamma-terpinene, beta-pinene, and para-cymene.

NOTE: Cumin essential oil has been made available from time to time from dōTERRA – especially during the summer.  However, it is not a regular product, so you may not be able to purchase it.  So, grab it when you can during the next promotion.
