Litsea is a plant native to East Asia. For hundreds of years it has been used by the indigenous people of Taiwan in traditional health practices. It is very popular and can be used for so many things!! It is also known by the name “mountain pepper” May Chang, in Mandarin. Litsea grows on a tree. It has lemon-scented flowers and small fruits that look like little peppers. The essential oil is steam distilled from the small pepper-like fruits. Litsea is currently sold in the Australian market only.
Summer Savory is the oil of the Quickened Heart. Summer Savory invites all to heal the heart by replacing bitterness, complaining, guilt, hatred, resentment, depression, frustration, confused, indecisiveness, annoyed, and panic with sweetness and abundance of joy. I’ve used Neroli oil for several years. I am so grateful that doTERRA has come out with Neroli. Neroli oil comes from the blossoms of the bitter orange tree. Orange oil comes from the rind, Petitgrain oil comes from the leaves and Neroli comes from the flowers or blossoms. It takes 1 ton of blossoms to produce 1kg of Neroli oil. doTERRA Neroli is part of the Touch range, which means it is perfectly diluted for topical usage.
Niaouli, Melaleuca quinquenervia is a type of Melaleuca tree. It can live over 100 years old and is sometimes referred to as broad-leaved paperbark tree. It’s main chemical components are: Eucalyptol, α-pinene. This tree can grow tall and wide ‘[h]eight of 8–15 m (30–50 ft) high and a spread of 5–10 m (20–30 ft)’. Niaouli grows well in warmer and wetter places such as coastal areas and swamps. After bushfires it can quickly regenerate within weeks. Niaouli is strong enough to withstand floods and droughts. It is a rich source of food for many native animals.
