This is the oil of Objectivity. Objectivity means you can get a clear spectator’s perspective on situations. Cardamom is fantastic for the digestive system and respiratory system. When one is easily caught up in other people’s problems and situation your gut and lungs will be affected. This oil helps one take responsibility for his/her own happiness and not guilt others or manipulating others into doing or being what you want. On the other hand, this oil helps you not blame others for your choice of not feeling happy. Sometimes we are blinded by emotions and our own bias. This oil helps us separate ourselves from issues.
We want to be caring and helpful but sometimes we get too involved and intertwined in people’s issues at times and become less helpful. Cardamom helps us step back and help in a more powerful way.
Two main things you should associate with Cardamom: Digestion and Respiratory. Cardamom helps the Digestive system and Respiratory system1 on a physical, mental and spiritual level.
dōTERRA’s Cardamom essential oil is extracted from Cardamom seeds grown in Guatemala. Cardamom is one of the oils in the Breathe Respiratory blend.
BODY
Air Cleanser: Diffuse a few drops to neutralize household odors.
Calm Digestive Spasms: Apply Cardamom by itself on the bottom center of each foot to soothe nerves and spasms of the digestive system. Remember to drink lots of warm water.2
Pancreas Support: Dilute and rub over pancreas to cleanse and restore pancreatic function.
Cardamom Tummy Tea: 1 drop Cardamom in a large cup of hot water to inhale the fragrance and to drink as it cools. Cardamom helps calm the digestive system and uplifts moods when one feels depressed.3
Relieve Mental Fatigue Massage blend: Blend 4 drops Cardamom, 4 drops Lavender, 4 drops Wild Orange, 6 drops Ginger with 2 tablespoons of Fractionated Coconut Oil. Massage on shoulders and lower back and anywhere you have muscles aches due to too much thinking. This blend can be massaged on abs during menstrual cycles, too.
Deep Gut Cleansing: 3 drops Cardamom, 2 drops Coriander, 2 drops Fennel, 2 drops Bergamot with 20 drops of Fractionated Coconut Oil to apply to lower stomach for recovery of areas previously irritated or have had ‘issues.’4
Lung Support: Combine 2 drops Cardamom, 3 drops Lemongrass, 2 drops Rosemary in a teaspoon of Fractionated Coconut Oil and apply on the chest to support breathing.5 Cardamom is great for opening airways and clearing congestion.6

Cardamom helps you regain your objectivity, mental, and emotional self control. Anger is often held in the liver and gall bladder. The root of anger is fear which is often held in the kidneys and bladder. And fear makes us worried and grieved which affects our gut and lungs! Can you see how Cardamom helps support the digestive system and respiratory system now? If we aren’t so angry, we can breathe better right? We share energy with our gut when we are not in our head too much right?
Clarity and Focus: Combine Cardamom 8 drops, Ginger 4 drops, Black Pepper 2 drops, Fennel 2 drops in a roller bottle. Fill up the rest with Fractionated Coconut Oil and apply to throat and back of neck.7 Clean gut, clear mind!
Unlock Romantic Blockages: Diffuse 6 drops Cardamom, 2 drops Rose, and 2 drops Cinnamon, and 3 drops Clove.8
Relieve Fear of Commitment: Dilute 2 drops Cardamom, 2 drops Coriander, 1 drop Rose in 20 drops of Fractionated Coconut Oil diffuse and apply to back of neck and sternum. Feel an enhanced ability to move forward in a healthy manner.9

Relief of Self-Neglect Blend: 1 drop Cardamom, 3 drops Vetiver, 3 drops Geranium in 20 drops of Fractionated Coconut Oil. It can be applied to your feet, placed on the inner-lining of your underwear right as it comes out of dryer, and it can be diffused into the room. Get it near and around your 1st and 2nd Chakra. It will help you find more happiness in yourself.10

Digestion of Recurring Old Aching Things: Place 3 drops Cardamom, 3 drops Frankincense, 2 drops Patchouli, and 2 drops Ylang Ylang in a roller bottle–use on a regular basis. Helps you appreciate the place of that aches.11 This allows you to resolve things once and for all and let it go so you might move on. When we stubbornly hold on to aches and memories, we find that we are constipated. And constipation causes a lot of issues if left unresolved.

SPIRIT
When we have a hard time being objective, it could be that we have a false belief that perhaps we are not enough. What that means is we feel smaller than our problems, that we are not powerful enough to resolve our problems, and that we believe we are not safe.
Feeling unsafe inside causes a lot of problems such as discrimination, hatred, jealousy and intolerance. We forget that we are all children of God. As humans, we will all forget that we are safe and protected by God and all we have to do is to connect to Him. The darkness and opposition in the world makes it so easy to think negatively. We think negatively about ourselves at first and then it is reflected on others by how we act.
Use Cardamon oil to help you see the big picture and become calmer with the grander visions of how things really are.
Being objective is important especially when you feel alone, overwhelmed and burdened. When I focus on my problems, I can’t see other people’s needs around me. Some people need my love and attention. When we are objective and clear thinking, we see how much power we actually have to handle our problems. Soon we can see others and we start to appreciate other people’s powerful contributions to the world too.
