When I was younger I was told I had Arthritis in my spine and hands. It was ridiculous to let something like that stop me from having a full enjoyable life. I had to fix it. I knew that my body knew how to heal. Arthritis isn’t a big scary mystery. It isn’t just something to expect as you grow older.
I am pleased to say that nowadays, I can jump out of bed instead of rolling off onto the floor! I can hold a fist in the morning instead of having stiff hands and knuckles. YAY!
What is Arthritis?
Arthritis is painful inflammation and stiffness of the joints. Anyone of any age can have some form of arthritis. I believe when we take care of the root cause and eliminate the symptoms of Arthritis, it can be reversed.1
There are many things you can do. Don’t give up.
What are the different types of Arthritis?
There are more than 100 different types of arthritis and related conditions.2
Some common ones are:
Degenerative Arthritis: Osteoarthritis
Inflammatory Arthritis: Rheumatoid Arthritis, Fibromyalgia
Infectious Arthritis: Migratory Arthritis and Lyme Disease are forms of infectious arthritis. Bacteria and fungus can cause infections in the joints. Examples are salmonella, shigella, chlamydia, gonorrhea etc.
Metabolic Arthritis: Uric acid overproduction. Sudden spikes of extreme joint pain, or a gout attack is an example of this.
Lupus: This is a form of inflammation, pain, and damage in various parts of the body. Inflammation caused by lupus can affect many different body systems — including your joints, skin, kidneys, blood cells, brain, heart and lungs.
What can we do to support our body?
1. Inflammation & Cellular Support: Inflammation is a natural response in the body. To us, inflammation means pain. An acute inflammatory response is healthy for us because it encourages heal and repair in certain areas. Chronic inflammation causes cellular damage and breakdown of tissues.
a) Clean your cells so that they can communicate effectively. We suggest everyone does the 30-day cleanse on a regular basis to keep cell receptors clean and toxins in check. Detoxifying your body is critical in helping you clean out viruses, infections, candidiasis, and parasites. Most likely depending on the severity of your arthritis, it may take many rounds of 30-day cleansing to help you experience great relief. The good news is every time you do a cleanse, you are getting a little better. It took me 6 months. Then each year I got more mobile and energized.
b) Feed the cells with nutrients to rule out nutritional deficiency symptoms that can be mistaken for disease. We encourage everyone to eat a whole-food diet high in omega fatty acids and supplement their nutritional needs with doTERRA’s amazing Lifelong Vitality Supplements. Your body can rebuild cells in your joints given the right building blocks and tools. Vitamins, minerals, omega fatty acids, and quality proteins are some of the building blocks your body needs.
c) Exercise a minimum of 20 minutes a day to help with circulation. Circulation allows the blood to carry nutrients to all parts of your body.
2. Emotional Healing:
Arthritis is about feeling unloved, criticism, resentment, and judgmental. This could be an accumulation of generational thinking and habits. Choose to think differently and focus on self love. Create new thought patterns such as, “I am loved. I choose to love and approve of myself. I see others with love.”3
3. Symptom Management:
There are many essential oil blends you can try on your own. Here are some blends for you to try. You can use these oils in epsom-salt soaks too.
1. Support Blend: Blend equal parts of Oregano, Cypress, White Fir, and Fractionated Coconut Oil.
Massage onto affected area three times a day, and say,
“I am moving each day to a more comfortable place and I enjoy more flexibility in my attitudes about myself and others.” 4
2. Support Blend: Blend 6 drops Roman Chamomile, 4 drops Helichrysum, 4 drops Patchouli, 3 drops Coriander, and 2 drops Black Pepper with 2 tbsp Fractionated Coconut Oil.
Massage onto affected area three times a day, and say,
“I am choosing to feel “better” instead of “bitter.” I am finishing what I have started with enthusiasm.”5
Infectious Arthritis blends: 3 drops Oregano, 3 drops Cassia, 3 drops On Guard for 3 weeks. Then 3 drops Oregano, 3 drops Cinnamon, 3 drops On Guard for 3 weeks. Then reduce the weeks to 2 weeks then 1 week for each. Remember to do the 3o day cleanse. Reduce white sugar and wheat.
AromaTouch Massages: Regularly receive an AromaTouch Massage to help encourage homeostasis. The combination of oils in this technique can bring great relief to the whole body.
Conclusion
Arthritis is common and comes in many forms. We don’t have to feel helpless and hopeless. There are many things we can do to support our body as it repairs and balances. Clean out your cells, feed your cells, manage emotions, and in the meantime, support yourself with essential oils.
